HOT POOLS

Katikati has a number of hot pools for the enjoyment of visitors and locals. Relax and soak away those aches while the kids have fun splashing about in the water!

Dave Hume Heated Swimming Pools

The Dave Hume Pools have two pools, both are heated; the main pool is about 26-27 degrees (although on a hot day it can get to 29 degrees late in the day) and the leaner's pool is normally about 33-34 degrees.

The water is tap water that is heated from a hot water bore, using heat exchanges.
The main pool is 33.5 m x 6 lanes wide. It's deepest end (at the entrance end of the pool) is 1.14m and the shallow end is 0.94m.
The small pool is 10m x 8m and is approx 0.8m deep. It also has a shade sail over part of it.
The grassed bank beside the pools is ideal for a family picnic or just watching the pool.
There is a permanent electric BBQ available for hire for $5 / hot plate and/or a portable gas BBQ for hire at $5 / 30 minutes
The pools generally open in the September / October school holidays and close in the last week of April, although these times may vary.

Sapphire Springs Holiday Park & Thermal Pools

Sapphire Springs Holiday Park & Thermal Pools feature three warm outdoor swimming pools and two hot tubs, in a picturesque natural bush setting. Complimented by a covered in BBQ area, this area is perfect for any occasion. There are also two hot private spas situated nearby.

The warm outdoor swimming pools include a small pool ideal for young children, a medium sized rectangular pool and a large kidney shaped deep pool. The pools are fed from a natural warm water spring which enters the pools between 30°C and 32°C and flows constantly through them. The two outdoor hot tubs are located next to the medium pool and sit at around 38°C, perfect for warming up on a cool evening.

Just a little way away from the main pools, are the two hot private spas. Located in a private room of their own, and heated up to a lovely 38°C for guests to enjoy a relaxing hot soak.

Pools are open daily (including public holidays) from 8.00am until 8.00pm. (Private Spas are open from 9.00am) but phone to find out days and times when the pools are closed for cleaning.

Prices include all persons using the pools, park, BBQ area and bush walks (regardless of whether you are swimming or not).

Athenree Hot Springs

Athenree Hot Springs & Holiday Park's hot pools are also open to the public as well as guests from 10:00am until 7:30pm daily.

There are two natural mineral pools with the larger pool at 33-35C with an average depth of 1.3m and also has a shallow section for toddlers. The smaller adult relaxing pool is at a temperature of 39.5C. A change room with toilets, showers and heated floors is located within the complex.
