Katikati for Business

The pool caters to many different sections of the community, and is regularly used by various groups and organisations including local primary schools, Katikati College, Waihi  Beach Lifeguard Services, Katikati Masters Swimming Club, aquafit classes and private coaching sessions.

There is also one smaller (Learners’) pool next to it, ideal for pre-schoolers

Opening season: generally from October through to April. (depending on funding.)

Both pools are heated using heat from a local geothermal bore.  The main pool is generally 26-27 degrees (although) it can get warmer than this in the midday heat of summer.  The learners' pool is generally between 29 - 32 degrees

Available activities at the pool include public lane swimming/walking; learn to swim programs for children and adults, Aquafit, and generally having a good time. The inflatable ‘bouncy castle’ as can be seen in the photos is always very popular with many of the children who use the pool in the summer. Many adults probably wish they could have a bounce on it as well but are not allowed on it! 

A BBQ unit is available for groups and families wanting to spend a few hours by the pool during weekends. Special fares are available for family groups during weekends, where a single payment is made.
