Conservation Week Walk
Walk the Long Loop
This event is part of Conservation Week 2018 - www.doc.govt.nz/conservationweek
Be guided on a magnificent bushwalk through a section of the lower Kaimai forest that has been subject to dedicated pest control efforts for the past 12 years by Aongatete Forest Project. Experienced members of Aongatete Forest Project and Kathy Broadhead from www.naturelibrary.co.nz will show you the amazing effect this is starting to have on our native plants and wildlife.
Aimed at able walkers keen to learn more about their Bay of Plenty backyard bush, participants must be able to walk for 3.5 to 4 hours and be comfortable with a river crossing. Assemble at the carpark (top end of Wright Road, Aongatete) at 8:45am, ready to walk 9am to 2pm. Bring a backpack with your lunch, a jacket & a drink, and wear suitable footwear.
Registration is essential, please email Barbara: firstname.lastname@example.org
