Pearce Tool and Manufacturing is a dedicated team of toolmakers and press operators who use the latest technology, coupled with conventional and proven knowledge, to create reliable and durable tooling and manufacturing solutions. We have a really tight knit team who are like family and are looking for the right person to come be a part of that!

We’ve designed a position for an experienced Toolmaker to join the team in Katikati to bring their expertise and mechanical aptitude to a role that’s full of opportunity. This role is varied and no day will be the same so we need someone who enjoys challenges, is organised, has exceptional communication skills and a “can do” attitude! We’re looking for an exceptional individual who we can be a jack of all trades. You might not be a qualified toolmaker yet but if you’re not we can teach you how to be a top notch toolmaker!

The key responsibilities for this role are:

  • Programming of the CNC machinery including the lathe, mill, surface grinder and wire cut
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Performing machine maintenance and managing maintenance schedules
  • Assisting in the construction of new tools and products
  • Using VX CAD CAM software to turn our clients ideas into reality
  • Inspecting machinery for safety
  • Following and leading the charge on all Health and Safety requirements

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience:

  • Experience with CNC machines including lathe, mill, surface grinder and wire cut
  • Engineering qualification (machine toolmaker, maintenance diagnostics or fitter/turner)
  • Knowledge of machine maintenance
  • A current forklift license (beneficial)
  • A full drivers license (beneficial)
  • Ability to think on your feet and operate efficiently
  • Friendly, hard working and reliable
  • Good computer skills and technologically savvy to pick up CAD CAM software fast
  • Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills
  • Team player

Standard hours are 7.30am – 4.00pm, Monday – Friday, hourly rate dependent on experience.
