Katikati and Waihi Beach Community Business Awards 2014


The first Katikati and Waihi Beach Community business Awards Ceremony was held on Saturday at Fairview Estate. The red carpet was rolled out to celebrate the communities' best in business excellence, volunteer and sports groups and individuals.
After several months of business entries, judges meetings, and nearly 2000 community people's choice votes, the winners were announced.
Guest speaker Cheryl Dawson spoke on the importance of small communities and volunteers, and the role they have played during her career. She spoke of rising to the opportunities that presented themselves, and recognising the essential role of the volunteer community in her successful endeavours.
The evening closed with an address from WBOP Mayor Ross Patterson who reiterated the importance of such events that recognised the contributions of individuals and business within the two communities and encouraging the connection the event has created between them. The Mayor congratulated the winners and also thanks the many sponsors who made the night possible with their generous contributions.
